## How we choose what to review

Our page coverage is driven by real search demand—what adult users actually ask for—combined with editorial judgment about where transparent guidance is missing. We monitor search trends, user questions, and tool releases to decide which tools merit detailed reviews.

Search keywords guide our structure and page titles, but they do not dictate conclusions. We do not reverse-engineer content to hit keyword counts or rankings; keyword volume is context for what people want to know, not a mandate for what we write.

## Our evaluation criteria

Every tool review examines the same seven dimensions:

1. **Processing speed:** How long setup takes and how fast the service processes a request.
2. **Output quality:** Resolution, detail, visual artifacts, consistency across multiple runs, and feature depth.
3. **Free-tier or trial availability:** Whether meaningful testing is possible without payment, and how many images/videos before hitting limits.
4. **Pricing clarity:** Whether subscription costs, per-use credits, cancellation terms, and refund policies are clearly stated.
5. **Privacy and data handling:** Whether the service explains upload retention, deletion guarantees, account data use, and whether uploads are used for model training.
6. **Consent boundaries:** What content types each tool allows or prohibits, and how clearly those limits are documented.
7. **Safety and responsible-use design:** Whether the service implements age verification, consent confirmation, abuse reporting, or content filtering.

Ratings and rankings reflect these dimensions equally. A tool with excellent speed but weak privacy language receives a mixed review that reflects both strengths and gaps.

## How we test

We test free tiers and trials where available. We document actual processing times, download outputs, and compare results across tools. Tools are ranked within their category on aggregate score. Affiliate relationships do not affect rankings. The resulting order is published in the [NSFW247 review](/nsfw247-review/) and the [side-by-side comparison](/nsfw247-tools-compared/).

## Editorial independence

[Our independence is material to your evaluation of this content. We disclose affiliate relationships because, per FTC guidelines, conflicts of interest should be known to readers.](https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-16/chapter-I/subchapter-B/part-255) We do not accept payment for favorable reviews, and we do not suppress criticism of partners.

## Safety and consent standards

Every review includes explicit prohibitions and consent requirements:

- No non-consensual intimate imagery (real or AI-generated deepfakes).
- No content involving minors.
- No impersonation, harassment, or abuse workflows.

If a tool's terms of service allow such uses, we flag that as a critical concern. If a tool prohibits them, we note that as a safety feature.

## Updates and sources

Tools change quickly. We re-verify reviews when pricing, privacy policies, features, legal requirements, or safety concerns shift. Each page shows its verification date; we flag outdated information. We cite official documentation, regulatory text, and authoritative sources—not marketing claims or unverified claims from other sites.
